Christian sites in High Gear
Route characteristics:
A trip that combines holy sites for Christians with off-road driving in an SUV. During the trip we will visit sites such as the Jordan River, Nazareth, the Dead Sea, Jerusalem and Mesada, along with some of the most beautiful scenic routes in Israel. The route is dynamic and several more days can be added and, accordingly, additional religious sites.
Day number 1:
We land at the airport in Tel Aviv, receive our SUV and drive towards the Sea of Galilee. On the way we will have a first taste of off-road driving in the Gilboa mountains and then we will go to "Har Simcha" where, according to the New Testament, Jesus delivered the "Sermon on the Mount". After visiting the site we will go to our hotel for dinner and overnight
Day number 2:
We will open the morning with a cross-country drive along the Jordan River and those who want can even take a dip in the river. After that we will visit the Church of the "Bread and Fishes" where according to the New Testament Jesus was able to feed 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish.
After visiting the church we will go to the nearby "Capernaum" where according to the New Testament, Jesus established the center of his activity for a long time.
We will visit the city of Tiberias, which according to the New Testament Jesus worked in the area north of the Sea of Galilee, therefore in Christianity the area is considered holy. Then we will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight
Day number 3:
In the first half of the day we will visit the "Triangle of the Borders" and bathe in "Hamat Geder" - a site where there are hot springs rich in minerals!
After that we will drive towards the city of Nazareth to visit the Church of the Gospel. Accommodation in the area
Day number 4:
We will start the day with a short tour of the "Jump Mountain", also called the Ancient Mountain. The origin of the name of the mountain is in the tradition that attributes to Jesus a jump from the mountain into the valley when he fled from those who sought his life.
After that we will visit the "Spring of Mary" or the well of Mary, which according to one of the Christian traditions, the Virgin used to draw water from the spring where the angel Gabriel told her the news about the birth of Jesus.
At the end we will drive towards "Mount Tabor", where according to the Christian tradition Jesus climbed with some of his disciples to the top of a high mountain, and talked there with Moses and the prophet Elijah, who told him about his imminent death. Accommodation in the area
Day number 5-6:
We will travel to the Holy City of Jerusalem where we will visit quite a few sites such as: the Church of the Sepulcher, Via Dolorosa, Mount Zion (on which the Room of the Last Supper is located), Gethsemane, Mary's Tomb and Golgotha and other sites as time permits
At the end of each day we will take the young people of the group (young at heart...) to discover the night life of the city.

Day number 7:
We will drive east towards the Qasr al-Yehud baptism site, where according to Christian tradition John baptized Jesus and his believers, and the baptism site is considered the third holiest in the Christian world.
At the end, we will drive south to visit the "Masada" site, and then to our hotel in the area.
Day number 8:
We haven't driven off-road in a long time, so we will start the day by driving through the streams in the area, which are spectacular in their beauty and remind us of the Genesis landscape.
After that we will return to our hotel, bathe in the Dead Sea and those who wish can purchase a pampering treatment package (not included in the price of the tour).
Day number 9:
On our last day, after breakfast we will start driving towards Tel Aviv and as time permits (depending on the departure time back home) we will walk around the city until we have to return to the airport, return the SUV and get ready for the flight home.
Please note - it is possible to extend the trip and go to the resort city of Eilat for several more days, please let us know when making the reservation so that we can book the accommodation in the hotels and the flights accordingly.
