From Caverns to Craters in 9 Days
Route characteristics:
9-day route that combines the landscapes of the green north of Israel, together with the primordial landscapes of the Jordan Valley and the Negev. On this route we will pass through several areas and see the amazing and hidden corners of Israel.
Day number 1:
We Land at Tel Aviv airport, receive our jeeps and head North. We will visit the caverns for as long as possible and stay overnight in the Western Galilee region.
Day number 2:
We will start the morning with a visit to the Monfort Fortress, from there we will drive to the Keshet Cave and then go offroad in the Galilee region overlooking the Hula Valley. Accommodation for the second day is in the Upper Galilee region.
Day number 3:
From the Galilee Panhandle ("Finger of the Galilee") we climb to the Golan Heights, to a lookout over the Nimrod Fortress that has an impressive view of the northern Golan Heights and Syria. We will continue offroad until we reach another lookout at the mounds in the area and from there we will take a short walking route to one of the most impressive waterfalls in the Golan Heights. If time allows, we will visit a local winery. Accommodation in the third day is in the Golan Heights region.
Day number 4:
From the Golan Heights, we will drive south through to an outlook over the Sea of Galilee. We will visit the Church of "the Bread and the Fish" and bathe in the Sea of Galilee (as the weather and season permits). Accommodation for the fourth day is near the Sea of Galilee.
Day number 5:
From the Sea of Galilee we will head toward the Beit She'an Valley and from there to the Jezreel Valley. We will climb the Gilboa mountain range and through the terrain we will reach a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the entire valley. We will continue driving offroad towards the Jordan Valley and climb towards a nature reserve overlooking the Jordan Valley and Ramat Gilad. Accommodation for the fifth day is near the Dead Sea.
Day number 6:
We will bathe in the Dead Sea, then proceed to drive south for a spectacular view of the Dead Sea, visiting the Masada National Park. The sixth day accommodation will be near Masada.
Day number 7:
We will start the day with a long and challenging off road drive in the streams in the area. Following the trip we will continue to the "Arava Peace Road" on the border with Jordan and bathe in a hidden pool that is located nearby. Accommodation for the seventh day is in the Arava region includes an authentic dinner.
Day number 8:
We will leave the Arava area and drive off road through the Great Crater towards a spectacular view of the Ramon Crater. If time allows we will visit a natural pool that is full year round. For the eighth day we will sleep near the Craters.
Day number 9:
We will start traveling north towards Tel Aviv, return the jeeps and if possible (depending on the returning flight time) we will travel by train for a short trip in Tel Aviv. After that we will return to the airport and say our goodbyes.
